This past Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, marked a milestone for sleep and rhythm science: the inaugural World Circadian Day. And it launched in style with an outreach event on Reddit.

The Society for Research on Biological Rhythms (SRBR) hosted a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) event that brought together some of the field’s brightest minds. From 9–11 a.m. PDT, President Dr. Joanna Chiu joined forces with Dr. Erik Herzog, Dr. Horacio de la Iglesia, Dr. Emily Manoogian, Dr. Julie Pendergast, Dr. Michael Tackenberg to field questions about sleep, biological clocks, jet lag, shift work, aging, and more.

The response was enthusiastic. Readers got direct answers from the people who literally study this stuff—no gatekeeping, no jargon walls, just genuine expertise shared in real time.

If you missed it, the thread is still live on Reddit, ready to scroll through:

And with World Circadian Day now officially on the calendar, the public recognition of circadian research is just beginning.
